Today, students in Ms. Hadley’s ‘World Music and Music’ classes attended the “Applause Series” concert called “world of rhythm” at the Civic Center.  Students watched drummers perform the most complex, heart pounding rhythms from all over the world!

Congratulations to the Roosevelt Roughriders for winning both the boys and girls team titles at the CIML Metro Conference Track and Field Championship, held last night at East High’s Williams Stadium. Click the photo at left to see more photos from the meet posted on the DMPS Flickr page.

The Roosevelt High Debate Team continues to shine in the national tournament spotlight. Three Riders successfully defended their team and individual championships at the Extemp Tournament of Champions this past weekend. This National Championship event is hosted by Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

Two Roosevelt High students, Elena Hildebrandt and Vaughn Hommerding, are state champions in this year’s State History Day competition and will advance to the National History Day contest in June.
