The Explore, Plan, and ACT tests measure high school students’ skills and understanding in English, math, reading, and science, and help monitor progress toward career and college readiness. Be sure to mark your calendar for October 22, 2014 for the Explore and Plan test (9th and 10th grade) and April 28, 2015 for the ACT test (11th grade). Click the header for more information.

Graduated Seniors:
Your books are to be picked up in the bookkeepers office Located in the main office. You can do this at any time.
All Other Students:
You may pick up the book in room 1340 (Mr. Cundiff’s Journalism Room) either before or after school, during 2/6+, during 1st lunch or immediately after 2nd lunch.
A record number of 230 DMPS students earned Advanced Placement Scholar honors from the College Board in 2014, including 10 Roosevelt students recognized as National AP Scholars. In addition, congrats to our ’14 grads Edel Aron and Maxwell Pilcher for being named the State of Iowa AP Scholars. Click the headline to read more about these top scholars.
Six Roosevelt seniors have been chosen as Semi-Finalists in the 60th annual National Merit Scholarship competition, placing them among the top young scholars in the state and nation. Congrats to Carson Cary, Harry Crane, Cora Egherman, Evan Haugh, Matthew Holmes and Rachel Schneider! Over the years nearly 500 National Merit Semi-Finalists have attended DMPS.
On Thursday night, the students, staff and parents of Roosevelt High School gathered for an evening of fun and celebration with our annual Homecoming parade as well as an event for the entire community on the school’s front lawn. Click the photo of Teddy to see more of our Roughriders’ celebration.
On September 14, 1814 Francis Scott Key penned the Star Spangled Banner. On Friday, the band and chorus at Roosevelt High School led the student body in a stirring tribute to the bicentennial of the national anthem. Come join us for Roosevelt’s open house this Thursday from 4-8p.m, join us for a casual meetings with teachers in classrooms, and talk to clubs and organizations available to you and your student. Great things are happening, come take a look!
Wildlife filled Noreen Nsereko’s environmental science class at Roosevelt High School. Along with the red tailed boa constrictor, zoo officials brought in a marine toad, a blue and gold macaw and an American alligator to show to the class. Down the hall in Deb Henry’s biology class, students have been raising and releasing monarch butterflies.
