Reminder: Explore, Plan & ACT Test Dates

The Explore, Plan, and ACT tests measure high school students’ skills and understanding in English, math, reading, and science, and help monitor progress toward career and college readiness. Be sure to mark your calendar for October 22, 2014 for the Explore and Plan test (9th and 10th grade) and April 28, 2015 for the ACT test (11th grade). Click the header for more information.

2013-2014 Yearbooks

The 2013-2014 yearbooks are in. Students can pick up their yearbook at any of these times:

Graduated Seniors:
Your books are to be picked up in the bookkeepers office Located in the main office. You can do this at any time.

All Other Students:
You may pick up the book in room 1340 (Mr. Cundiff’s Journalism Room) either before or after school, during 2/6+, during 1st lunch or immediately after 2nd lunch.

Ten Riders Named National AP Scholars

A record number of 230 DMPS students earned Advanced Placement Scholar honors from the College Board in 2014, including 10 Roosevelt students recognized as National AP Scholars. Students Named Nat’l Merit Semi-Finalists

Six Roosevelt seniors have been chosen as Semi-Finalists in the 60th annual National Merit Scholarship competition, placing them among the top young scholars in the state and nation. Congrats to Carson Cary, Harry Crane, Cora Egherman, Evan Haugh, Matthew Holmes and Rachel Schneider! Over the years nearly 500 National Merit Semi-Finalists have attended DMPS.

On September 14, 1814 Francis Scott Key penned the Star Spangled Banner. On Friday, the band and chorus at Roosevelt High School led the student body in a stirring tribute to the bicentennial of the national anthem. What’s That in the Hallway?

Wildlife filled Noreen Nsereko’s environmental science class at Roosevelt High School. Along with the red tailed boa constrictor, zoo officials brought in a marine toad, a blue and gold macaw and an American alligator to show to the class. Down the hall in Deb Henry’s biology class, students have been raising and releasing monarch butterflies.
