Students to sing with Opera star, Simon Estes to raise money

This Sunday afternoon December 15th, Simon Estes, fifteen TRHS choral students, and over 1000 other Iowa high school vocalists will be in concert to raise awareness and funds towards the fight against Malaria.   The concert will take place on the campus of Iowa State University – Hilton Coliseum and begin at 3:00pm.  The fifteen TRHS students singing that afternoon are:

Sienna Stewart, Kedall Bruce , Alexis Cole, Daniel Luckett, Matthew Hawkins, Trent Schwab, Madi Ary, Maisie Karlin, Elizabeth Struyk, Alicia Alanis, Corbin Hoffman, Nolan Murphy, Sydney Sillas, Abby Swanda, and Chazyra Miller.

In addition to our students’ involvement in this great fundraising concert, the Roosevelt NHS Organization will be selling a very special Simon Estes CD after the holiday season and into the second semester.  More information regarding this CD can be found at the link below.

Mr. Estes will donate $5 for every CD sold to purchase one Mosquito/Malaria net for a child in Africa – Yes, for each CD sold, a child’s life will be saved!  Additionally, Mr. Estes will donate $4 per CD sold directly to Roosevelt High NHS, as a thank you for helping his foundation save lives!!!  NHS will have 500 CDs in which to sell at $15/per, so once they’re gone, they’re gone.   Not only is Simon Estes a world famous Opera singer, but his heart is so kind and his generosity is contagious.  If you are interested in saving a life in Africa and would like to purchase this $15 CD, please email the TRHS NHS Advisor, Mr. Steve Perkins at [email protected].  Otherwise, keep your ears and eyes open after the holidays to learn more.
