The Roosevelt High Debate Team continues to shine in the national tournament spotlight. Three Riders successfully defended their team and individual championships at the Extemp Tournament of Champions this past weekend. This National Championship event is hosted by Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

Two Roosevelt High students, Elena Hildebrandt and Vaughn Hommerding, are state champions in this year’s State History Day competition and will advance to the National History Day contest in June. There is a mandatory Senior Class meeting on May 1 in the Auditorium from 9:50-10:20am. The topic is to discuss Graduation and other items related to the end of the year. There will be a bus that will return to central campus after the meeting.

Larry Eisenhauer, chief judge of the Iowa Court of Appeals, presided over moot court arguments here at Roosevelt. It was all part of a lesson in AP Government classes on the judicial process.
