Seniors Sign Letters of Intent

Two of Roosevelt’s best and brightest student athletes signed letters of intent to play sports in college!  Congratulations to Kaitlyn Williams (left) and Jalynn Roberts-Lewis (right).  Go to The Roosevelt Flickr page to see pictures from the event.

 

Kaitlyn is the daughter of LeeAnn and Leonard Williams.  She is a 4-year letter winner in softball and has also lettered in volleyball.  Kaitlyn has been named 2nd Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-Conference during her career in softball.  This fall, she was named KCCI’s Athlete of the Week.  Kaitlyn excels in the classroom where she maintains a 3.6 GPA and has earned four academic All-Conference awards in softball and one in volleyball.  Kaitlyn plans to study in the field of athletic training and physical therapy.  She signed a letter of intent for DMACC.

 

Jalynn is the daughter of Patrick Lewis and Jennifer Roberts.  She is a 4-year letter winner in volleyball and has lettered all 3 years of track.  Jalynn is a 4-time First Team All-Conference selection and a 4-time First Team All-District selection in volleyball.  She finishes as Roosevelt’s all-time leader in kills with 1,403.  On the track, Jalynn is the 2-time defending Drake Relays champion in the long jump.  She is also a 3-time Drake Relays champion in teh 4×100 and 4×200 relays, and a 3-time State Champion in teh 4×200 relay and a 2-time State champion in the 4×100 relay.  She has finished in the top 4 of the 100 meter dash at the Drake Relays for three years in a row.  Jalynn is a school record holder as a member of the 4×200  and the 4×100 relay, which ran 47.55 and is the fastest all-time in the state of Iowa.  Jalynn’s intended field of study is social work and criminal justice.  Today she signed a national letter of intent with Illinois State University.
