ACT TESTING DAY for JUNIORS!! On Tuesday, April 28 (Gray day), the ACT test will be administered for ALL juniors. Release blocks are cancelled on this day and CC/CA juniors are to report to TRHS no later than 7:40. Central Shuttle Buses will run only in the morning for regular shuttles and the last departure from CC back to Roosevelt will be at 11:35 to catch the homebound buses from Roosevelt at 12:00 on April 28.

DMPS will again offer breakfast and lunch over the summer months to children 18 and younger. The number of sites has grown, and so have the number of meals served. Last summer, DMPS staff fed children 28,722 breakfasts and 79,698 lunches. DMPS has sponsored a summer meal program for more than 30 years. Des Moines Public Schools has a long history and tradition of students competing at the highest levels in a variety of sports. DMPS is expanding opportunities for more and more students to participate in a wide range of activities, including athletics. To support that effort, we are also expanding our summer sports camp offerings. More information can be found under the athletics tab.
Roosevelt Student Council will be selling dessert dirt cups in honor of Earth Day this April. Student Council students will be stationed in the Commons and Front Hall after school on Monday, April 20, Tuesday, April 21, and Wednesday, April 22. Dessert cups cost $1, but students will also be able to donate additional funds. All proceeds go to updating the outdoor commons and courtyard.
The Class of 2014 graduation rate set a new high mark for Des Moines Public Schools as every high school saw an increase. At Roosevelt, our graduation rate increased to 93.68%. The overall graduation rate at DMPS has gone up 9 percent over the past six year. For more details, please click on the photo.
TRHS COURSE REGISTRATION FOR THE 2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR! Portal will be open from April 6 (7 am) -April 20th (7 am). All students MUST utilize this for course requests for the 2015-2016 school year.
Please note if you student attends Central Academy and has made his/her request already, they do NOT need to complete online course registration. Incoming 9th graders do not need to complete online course registration.
Roosevelt English teacher Emily Bollinger, whose class is reading the memoir of a boy soldier, brought the lesson to life on Thursday when she hosted Mohamed Sidibay, a former child fighter from Sierra Leone. He spoke of his experiences being forced to become a soldier in his nation’s civil war at age 5. Click the image to read more about his remarks.
