At the beginning of last night’s School Board meeting, Team Cloud 9 – the new robotics team here at Roosevelt High School – talked about their work and presented their latest creation. Roosevelt Students on National Journal Panel

Nosa Ali is from Sudan. Brenda Vasquez’s family emigrated from El Salvador. While their origins are different, their paths have brought them to Roosevelt High School. Roosevelt Senior Wins Top Scholarship

Roosevelt Senior Lucia Ruppert was granted a top scholarships in the state wide Herbert Hoover Uncommon Student awards. Ruppert wrote – “The Adventures of Lucy & Lulu” a children’s book that she wrote, illustrated and self-published.

Roughriders are Runner-Up at State Golf

Congratulations to the Roosevelt boys’ golf team on earning team runner-up honors at this weekend’s Class 4A State Golf Tournament. Roughrider Aaron Wirt was also the individual runner-up medalist, shooting a two-day total of just two over par. Way to go Riders!

Roughriders Head Back to State Golf Tourney

Congratulations to the Roosevelt boys’ golf team on qualifying for the Class 4A State Tournament. Special congrats to Aaron Wirt, who was runner-up for medalist honors, along with teammates Willis Gaer , Cooper Moore, Jack Christensen, Casey Mathews and Niko Bakros. The state tourney is Friday and Saturday at the Tournament Club of Iowa.

Band Wears Pink Plumes for Breast Cancer

To show support for Breast Cancer Awareness, and raise money for the cause, DMPS high school marching bands are going PINK. During the month of October, each band will be wearing pink plumes in their marching band uniform hats. Roosevelt kicks off the effort tonight during their game against Johnston at Drake Stadium. Reminder: Explore, Plan & ACT Test Dates

The Explore, Plan, and ACT tests measure high school students’ skills and understanding in English, math, reading, and science, and help monitor progress toward career and college readiness. Be sure to mark your calendar for October 22, 2014 for the Explore and Plan test (9th and 10th grade) and April 28, 2015 for the ACT test (11th grade). Click the header for more information.

2013-2014 Yearbooks

The 2013-2014 yearbooks are in. Students can pick up their yearbook at any of these times:

Graduated Seniors:
Your books are to be picked up in the bookkeepers office Located in the main office. You can do this at any time.

All Other Students:
You may pick up the book in room 1340 (Mr. Cundiff’s Journalism Room) either before or after school, during 2/6+, during 1st lunch or immediately after 2nd lunch.
